Use Event Fundraising Software to Manage Online Invitations for Your Next Big Event

Event Fundraising Software

Online invitations sent through your event fundraising software not only make it easier to get your message out, but they also make it easier for supporters to immediately respond, purchase tickets, or otherwise make a donation. In many ways, online invitations are like traditional paper announcements, but there are some differences. A great invitation is the key that opens the door to a successful event, so don’t miss this opportunity to get your event fundraising off to a fantastic start.

Who Should Be on Your List?

It’s helpful to start by identifying who you will be sending invitations to. Your invitation needs to engage them as well as providing the information they need about your event.

Past donors and past event attendees are an obvious group to start with, but don’t forget your board members and even your volunteers. Your email list should include anyone who has inquired about your cause even if they have never done anything else with your organization. Events are a fun and low-commitment way for them to get a little more involved, so include the whole list, even if you think they won’t be interested.

Invite Friends of Friends of Friends

You won’t have an email address for your donors’ friends, but you can still invite them. Put your invitation on Facebook and put it on your website so you can send a link out in Tweets. Post a call to action on Facebook asking your followers to share the invitation with their friends. Your event fundraising outreach increases exponentially by that one simple action!

What to Include in Event Invitations

Your invitation should make a strong case for the importance of your cause and the impact of your organization’s work. Most importantly, it needs to show the impact the donations for this particular event will have. Your donors are most likely very busy people, with many demands on their time, so the invitation must show them that this event is worth showing up for.

RSVP

Don’t leave your invitation open-ended. You need to tell donors what you want them to do, which is buy a ticket to your event (or commit to attending if there is no fee). This is where event fundraising software is especially beneficial. It only takes one click for donors to get to your donation page and purchase tickets. It also sends an immediate thank you containing the necessary tax information, which eliminates several different tasks for your staff.

Automated Reminders

Event fundraising software makes it much less expensive to fundraise online compared to mailing out invitations because you not only save on postage, but can send reminders right up until the day of the event without spending more.
