Q&A with David Vertin, Strategy, Operations & Enablement Sales Manager
What do you do at Network for Good?
I manage Network for Good’s business development team as well as the operations of the team. On a daily basis, I work on training and on-boarding, implementing innovative technology, projects, and processes to ensure that the experience is seamless for the nonprofits we work with.
What is your experience with nonprofit organizations outside of Network for Good?
The dogs that my wife and I have adopted came from the Humane Society as I know how large the need is for people to adopt. As well as donating in-kind gifts to the local Goodwill.
What attracts you to nonprofits?
The impact that nonprofits can have. Most people don’t know I have two brothers. One of my brothers passed away before his first birthday and I never had the opportunity to meet him. Little Tony was born with Monosomy 13 as well a number of other birth defects. My parents told me there were not many resources around at that time for families and children with those types of disabilities. I often wonder if Little Tony would still be around if those resources and support that some nonprofits provide today had existed back then.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The challenge and the constant improvement, especially this past year. We have focused on growing the Business Development Team as well as implementing tools to help our team manage that growth. All of these changes we are making allow us to help more nonprofits and expand the mission of our company.
What do you enjoy doing outside work?
My wife, Alyssa, and I I have two daughters, Adeline (3) and Ava (1.5) along with our dog, Sadie. When I am not working, I love spending time with them more than anything else. My daughter, Adeline, just started playing soccer and Ava is running around the house trying to talk so things are always exciting. My wife and I have been together for almost 11 years now, and when we can get a date night, we love checking out new restaurants around the city.
