Q&A with Rebecca Flora, Digital Marketing Manager
What do you do at Network for Good?
In my role as Digital Marketing Manager, I amplify Network for Good’s brand through paid platforms including, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Ads and Microsoft Ads. This process starts with my department, where we work together to identify trends and content that will help most effectively empower nonprofit organizations at any given time. Then I work closely with the creative team to help build graphics, write copy, and set up infrastructure for campaigns. Finally, I spend an extensive amount of time analyzing audience insights including engagements and behaviors, in efforts to identify any areas for user improvements. For me, the final step is where my passion lies.
What is your experience with nonprofit organizations outside of Network for Good?
In all honesty, I had limited exposure to working closely with nonprofits prior to starting with Network for Good, which is one of the main reasons I decided to take a job with this great company. I was primarily involved in one-time volunteering opportunities with organizations, always having a desire to dedicate more. Soon after starting with Network for Good, the Do Gooder committee was created and I immediately knew that I wanted to chair this group and develop deeper connections with local nonprofit organizations. In short, my experience may have been minimal, but it’s now growing rapidly!
What attracts you to nonprofits?
Their ability and passion for positive change. I’m extremely attracted to positivity and inclusiveness, both providing a space for it and advocating for change. Nonprofits uniquely attract some of the most passionately kind individuals and being around that level of positivity motivates me daily.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
The stories. Every day I hear compelling and incredible stories from individuals about their organizations, why they started their non-profit, and the successes they’ve had within their community and worldwide. Also, Network for Good is a great place to show up to work every day, full of amazing people with diverse backgrounds who all share a common denominator: wanting to help people do good for others.
What do you enjoy doing outside work?
I really enjoy cooking. I am OBSESSED with the Food Network and trying new recipes. Sitting around the kitchen table for a nice meal or a cup of tea feels like home, so I’m continuously working to master my skills in the kitchen to recreate the dinner table experience I grew up with.
